Meet Corrina Jacob, RP (Qualifying)

About Me

Hi, I’m Corrina.

Maybe you’re here because you’re feeling overwhelmed, burned out, or carrying the weight of past experiences. Reaching out for therapy can be hard - especially when you’re used to pushing through and being there for everyone else. 

I offer a warm, genuine, and non-judgemental space where you can slow down and feel heard. Together, we can make sense of what you’re going through, build practical coping skills, and begin to process difficult or traumatic experiences in a way that feels safe and manageable.

I’m a Registered Psychotherapist (Qualifying) and a Registered Nurse. My experience includes eight years as an ICU nurse before transitioning to the mental health field and obtaining a Master of Arts in Counselling Psychology. My background informs a holistic, trauma-informed approach to therapy. I have a particular understanding of burnout, anxiety, and the impacts of stressful environments - especially on healthcare workers and caregivers.

Who I Work With

I work with individuals (18+) and offer in person therapy in Manotick as well as virtual therapy across Ontario.

Many of my clients feel unsure or nervous about starting therapy. That’s completely normal and you don’t need to have the right words or a clear starting point.

I often work with:

  • Nurses, healthcare workers, and first responders 
  • Caregivers, parents, and those balancing multiple roles
  • Individuals navigating trauma, PTSD, or difficult life experiences
  • People living with chronic or acute illness
  • Anyone feeling overwhelmed, stuck, or in need of support

Common concerns I support include anxiety, stress, burnout, compassion fatigue, trauma, life transitions, and relationship challenges.

My Approach to Therapy

My approach is collaborative, flexible, and individualized to each client. I use a biopsychosocial and trauma informed lens which means considering your concerns in the context of your physical, mental, and social situation and prioritizing your psychological safety. I offer trauma therapy drawing on evidence-based approaches. 

These approaches include: 

  • Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT)
  • Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT)
  • EMDR therapy (Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing)
  • Dialectical Behavioural Therapy (DBT)
  • Solution-Focused Therapy
  • Schema therapy
  • Narrative therapy
  • Relational therapy

EMDR can be especially helpful for processing trauma, distressing memories, and experiences that continue to feel “stuck”. 

I don’t see myself as an expert on your life - that’s you! My role is to support you in understanding yourself more clearly, building resilience, and moving toward change in a way that feels practical and sustainable.

How To Work With Me

I offer in person therapy in Manotick and virtual sessions across Ontario, including Ottawa.
